Production

Vintage Notes

Chenin Blanc is a white grape variety which originates from France but prospers in the warm sunshine of the Western Cape in South Africa. South African Chenin Blanc produces fruit driven wines which are immensely enjoyable on all occasions. This Chenin Blanc is grown on the De Goree farm in the Robertson Valley approximately 175km north east of Cape Town where the warm sunny days and the cool evenings allow the grapes to ripen gradually and to their optimum level.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested, crushed and the juice is settled at a cold temperature.  The juice goes through cold fermentation (12-15 degrees Cesius)and post-fermentation lees contact is given to enhance flavour and body. Once fermented the wines are left in stainless steel tanks to settle. The wine experiences no oak maturation in order to retain its fruit forward characteristics.
