Tasting notes

Silky tannins and an inky blue-purple color, opens with the most beautiful red rose and lilac scents with red and black cherry compote and hints of cinnamon stick, earth, stewed tea, cigar box and forest oor. e palate is full-bodied, rich and seductive with incredibly perfumed fruit and a satiny texture, finishing very long.
is is a concentrated, well-balanced wine, with terric fruit intensity and palate presence. It is fat, it is opulent, it is delicious.

Production

Vintage Notes

The 2016 vintage was the beginning of the end of the drought in Napa Valley. The vines were finally given a break with close-to-normal amount of rain in the winter
preceding the vintage. Overall, 2016 was cooler than 2014 & 2015, it was warm and dry, but without the massive spikes in temperature that challenged the previous two years. 2016 was the kind of year where even a blind squirrel can find a nut, so most wineries could coast along and make good wine. We don’t coast, so 2016 was an epic vintage for us, one for the ages.

Viticulture

The Kayli Morgan Vineyard is located just north of Saint Helena, California at the base of Howell Mountain. e soils are a chocolatey clay, holding moisture to keep
the vines cool. As summer progresses, the ground forms micro-cracks, allowing the roots to seek water deeper and deeper into the earth; as they do, they pick up
minerals that give Kayli Morgan its distinctive characteristics. Kayli Morgan is a single estate vineyard and 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Vinification

Hundred Acre wines are aged for a minimum of 30 months in the finest, center cut French oak barrique. e stave wood is hand-selected for ultra-tight grain, then air
dried for three years before being made into barrels.
